I remember when life started unraveling. I was 30 years old, and from the outside, it looked like I had everything—family, business, home. But inside, I was plagued by profound insecurity, anxiety, and chronic sadness. Juggling major responsibilities while battling these emotions took a toll on my body, leading to bronchial pneumonia, shingles, and other ailments you wouldn’t expect in someone my age.
That was my wake-up call. I felt worn down, and the thought of change was overwhelming.
With limited energy, I started thinking about taking tiny steps toward a fresh start. I asked myself, “What part is screaming the loudest right now?” The answer was clear: “Your body.”So, that is where I began with tiny steps toward healing myself bit by bit, initially starting with a focus on my physical health—diet, breath, rest, and gentle walks in nature and then feeling the result of my efforts branching out to more incredible healing in my heart and spirit.
This was the beginning of a lifelong healing journey when a profound realization struck me: the alternative—staying shattered and stuck in pain—simply wasn’t an option.
I had to rebuild and grow from these experiences, or I knew they would take me down. These shattering events have the potential to heal us or hurt us, and I decided to heal ‘cause the alternative choice sucked. If you’re in the middle of a devastating loss, being stuck in despair is debilitating. We become prisoners of our past, and the future seems bleak.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Why suffer through the alternative when hope and healing can be found?
