I am excited to share with you that my book, Inside: A Guide to the Resources Within, was just picked up by a New York literary agent with a strong market for life-enriching products. I’ll soon be talking with publishers to find the best fit for the book. Look for upcoming posts for updates! Getting the book out there gives it the greatest opportunity to serve. I am grateful for that.

The journey to true healing requires that we take the most challenging path there is: the path within. It is tempting to hope that someone will do the hard work of our lives for us, but no matter how far and wide we look, no one else can. Our spiritual journey is a supremely personal one, and it requires determination and a sense of curiosity.

I have found that healing is most effective when we bring the focus inward and take care of ourselves first. Inside: A Guide to the Resources Within introduces the simple yet life-changing concept of self-care. The book’s plainspoken, practical, and accessible counsel will meet you wherever you are on your wellness journey. It can serve as an entryway to any healing path, and it can enhance whatever protocols, belief systems, or ways of living you already ascribe to. I have witnessed firsthand through the evolution of my career how difficult is to change behaviors and habits without an understanding of self-care and whole life healing.

Self-care is not a gimmick, promise, or plan, but rather a simple, straightforward method of wellness that focuses on nurturing yourself so that you can be healthier in your body and mind, happier in your life, and a better loved one to those you care about. It is the first step in the journey toward self-love. Self-care is about trusting yourself, being aware of your needs, and knowing intimately what makes you safest and most secure. It is about finding a new relationship with pain and becoming friends with the most fragile parts of your being. The words self-care might not sound sexy, but doing the work is an absolute prerequisite for any spiritual practice to take foot. The self-knowledge that comes with self-care gives any attempt at spirituality a far greater chance at success. As you delve into the practices in the book and do the work, you will take steps toward becoming the true teacher of your life. It is not the intention of this book to tell you which spiritual quest is best suited for you but rather to help you build a base, a starting point, and ultimately a foundation strong enough to take on the spiritual journey of your dreams.

With self-care in place, you will be able to move beyond the cycle of fear, anxiety, and blame. When you stand face to face with what hurts you most and frightens you to the core, an amazing thing happens: pain asks to be released, and you begin to feel it loosen its grip on your life.

It’s easy to want to look for the newest quick fix or next big miracle, but ninety-nine percent of the time, hard work and consistency are the miracle. It starts with deciding not to live in suffering anymore and from there patience, grace, openness, and love usher in a new way of being in the world. Inside will guide you every step of the way.

From this new place of self-awareness and self-healing, you will learn to listen deeply—not to the noise of your surroundings, but to the ever-present peace that lives inside you. With a clear path set before you, your spirit will be free to grow, heal, and know life in its most joyful expression.
