My top 3 fall game changers

audio version:

Fall has always been my true New Year, that sacred threshold when the world shifts into golden light and I feel my creative spirit stirring awake. Fall carries an ancient knowing. Maybe it’s because winter calls me inward to hibernate, restore, and rest in the deep cocoon of cold months. Winter whispers: Go inside, let the outside world tend to itself. But fall? Fall is different. Fall is the season that summons me to create, to weave community, to offer every tool I know for helping people reclaim their power and heal.

I know, I know, I absolutely geek out on self-empowerment and healing practices. Sometimes my enthusiasm runs so bright it might blind people (bless my patient family and friends who’ve weathered years of my passionate proclamations). But here’s the thing: these practices have saved my life more times than I can count, and when something pulls you back from the brink repeatedly, you want to shout it from every rooftop, write it across every sky.

So here we go, three discoveries that transformed my health and wellbeing this summer, each one a small revolution in its own right.

1. Coconut Cult Probiotic Yogurt

This isn’t just yogurt, it’s medicine disguised as indulgence. Thick, creamy, and crafted from pure coconut, this probiotic powerhouse delivers beneficial bacteria that your gut craves. Dairy-free with a perfect tangy bite, it’s packed with live cultures that support digestion and overall gut wellness.

After wrestling with chronic inflammation that shadowed every day last year, this simple addition has lifted the pain I’d grown accustomed to carrying. Sometimes healing comes in the form of a spoon and a small jar of fermented coconut magic.

2. A Daily Rest Practice

For sixty consecutive days, I’ve committed to something radical in our productivity-obsessed world: intentional rest. This isn’t a casual nap or mindless scrolling break; this is a sacred pause, a deliberate dropping into the body’s deepest wisdom.

I create a sanctuary of stillness, allowing my body to melt into complete relaxation while guided meditation leads me through layers of awareness. Conscious yet deeply surrendered, I enter a state more profound than sleep, a place where healing happens in the spaces between thoughts. The gentle voice becomes a compass, navigating me through body awareness and breath while my nervous system finds its reset button.

I emerge not just refreshed, but reconnected, to myself, to my body’s intelligence, to the quiet knowing that lives beneath the surface of everyday consciousness.

3. Journaling

I’ve always been a journaler, but this summer, I transformed my practice into something wilder and more alive. My journal became my dearest confidante, but now it’s also my canvas, my playground, my sacred creative laboratory.

Sketches dance alongside words. Watercolor spills between pages like feelings given form. Stickers add whimsy to profound reflections. I weave in wisdom from beloved oracle cards—tarot, animal spirits, archetypes, each one offering new doorways into self-understanding.

Kim Krans’s card collection has become a particular treasure; her imagination and spot-on, intuitive descriptions sparked creativity I didn’t know lived in me. Her prompts don’t just inspire, they excavate, revealing layers of insight buried beneath the everyday mind.

Fall reminds us that transformation doesn’t require dramatic gestures. Sometimes revolution arrives quietly: in the form of fermented coconut, 15-30 minutes of conscious rest, or Watercolor flowing into words like liquid emotion. Sometimes the most radical act is simply paying attention to what makes us feel alive, then having the courage to make space for more of it.

The season is calling. What wants to be born in you?

Where self-watching becomes self-freeing

Each morning, as part of my meditation practice, I draw cards, not just any cards, but ones that carry inspiration, hope, and direction. I keep different decks for different rituals, each one a doorway into wisdom that moves beyond my busy mind.
