The Art of Deep Listening: A Guide to Empathy, Understanding, and Connection

Deep listening is a spiritual practice that involves giving full attention and presence to someone or something. It is a way of truly hearing and understanding without judgment, distraction, or the desire to fix or change. This practice requires putting aside all distractions, being present in the moment, and being open to receiving and understanding what is being communicated.

In deep listening, we listen not only with our ears but also with our hearts and our intuition. We listen for the emotions, feelings, and experiences that are being shared, as well as the words being spoken. By focusing on the deeper meaning behind the words, we are able to gain a deeper understanding and connection with those around us and with ourselves.

The benefits of deep listening are numerous. It fosters understanding, compassion, empathy, and connection. It allows us to see the world through someone else’s eyes, to understand their perspective and experiences, and to build deeper relationships. When we listen deeply to ourselves, we are able to gain a better understanding of our own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, which can help us make positive changes in our lives.

Overall, deep listening is a powerful tool for personal growth, healing, and connection. Whether it be with others or with ourselves, it is a practice worth incorporating into our daily lives.

When Rest Became Medicine

Each of us arrives at rest carrying our own story, often shaped by striving, stress, and the quiet ache for relief. My rest story began in the chaos of launching a massive healing summit. But before you step into my experience, pause and ask yourself: What is your rest story? When did you notice that rest could be medicine?
