Sitali Breath Is a cooling breath that acts as an air conditioner to internal organs, temperaments, and fiery dispositions. Some of its benefits:

  • Calms the nervous system
  • Counters anxiety, stress, and depression
  • Balances fiery reactions
  • Regulates the digestive system
  1. Lie flat, or sit on the floor cross-legged, or sit in a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
  2. Lengthen your spine.
  3. Take a breath in through your nose, then slowly release it.
  4. Roll your tongue, curling the sides up toward the center. (If this isn’t possible, stick your tongue out through pursed lips.)
  5. Take an inhale through your tongue (the air on the tongue should feel cool).
  6. Exhale through your nose.
  7. Do this for 6 rounds, or as long as it takes to calm a disruptive state such as anger or stress.
