I have found that the root of all my anxiety and fear lives in the past or the future: regrets about what happened yesterday or long ago, or anxiety about what’s to happen in the future.
This meditation technique will bring you back to the only place where we have the power over our actions and habits, the present moment.
To do the meditation:
Take a seat on the floor in a cross-legged position or, alternatively, sit in a chair with your feet on the ground. Feel yourself rooted at your tailbone and allow this connection to energize the lengthening of your spine.
Line your four fingers up along the pulse line at your wrist and set your thumb on the other side of your wrist. Lift all 4 fingers up, then one by one lay each finger on your pulse and say the word below that corresponds with each finger. Continue for 3 minutes and feel the grounding benefits it brings to the moment. This ritual can transform fearful feelings. It really works!
When you touch your index finger, say: PEACE
When you touch your middle finger, say: BEGINS
When you touch your ring finger, say: WITH
When you touch your pinkie finger, say: ME
