Alexa Brassard, my daughter, is back with some great ideas and insights about the moon and other astrological events. She brings light to rituals and celebrations that inspire her life and focus. She and I often talk about how the moon cycles have affected us and what we did to honor it. This month, after our conversation, I urged her to share her wisdom with all of you too. Neither one of us is an expert on the moon but we are experts on how our lives are affected by the various stages of the moon’s development. We’d love to hear from you too, everyone’s experience is so personal.
Until then, enjoy all the benefits of being naturally connected.

Greetings, Earthlings! I’m back and reporting live from the West Coast. What an honor it is to collaborate with my mom, Sarah.

Each month I’ll bring personal insights and celebration ideas to astrological events. Most times it will be about the specifics of that month’s new and full moons. In June though, we get more of a chance to dance with nature. Summer Solstice officially kicks off the warmest months in our hemisphere bringing opportunities for health, healing, and so much happiness. That happens on Thursday, June 21st, so get your plans together now.

This week, I’m talking about a new ritual I’ve decided to incorporate into my life: Moon Ceremonies. Our Lady Moon is a powerhouse. I’ve always felt deeply affected by the ever-changing phases of the Moon. To put it in perspective, if the Moon has the power to change the tides of our vast oceans, and we as humans are made up of 70% water, then imagine the changes we feel with the waning and waxing Moon cycles.

Last Tuesday, we experienced a Sagittarius moon and it brought all sorts of energy with it, an energy I relate to and felt moved to celebrate. I gathered friends and made a plan for a moon ritual. So, I did what any millennial would do and I googled Full Moon ceremonies. Ceremonies need not be extensive and elaborate- just intentional. By aligning your intentions with the lunar cycle, you harness lunar energy. It’s as simple as that.

When we join forces with the energy of the moon we come into rhythm with the various aspects of the moon’s energy. Once we have this awareness we can make decisions about how to work with the cycles of the moon. For example, at a spiritual level, a new moon is known for setting intentions and watching them grow. With awareness, the intention has potential to take shape and blossom into a full-blown idea as we move into the full expression of the moon.

Before I sign off, I’ll leave you with a few tidbits about the Full Moon:

The Full Moon (and up to three days after):

  • Are great times to socialize and connect with your community.
  • Brings extra energy, so harness, understand, and respect that energy, so you don’t end up acting and feeling like a LUNAtic.
  • This last Full Moon was a Sagittarius moon. It’s qualities were:

That’s all for now, start making plans for your next moon celebration, it’s coming soon.

With Love and Light,

Alexa Brassard
