Kal Akal | ItThis weekend, I lost a very dear friend. It is hard to know what to do in the depths of sorrow, how to be true to the sadness you are experiencing personally and how to support and love those around you that are also suffering the same feelings.

In the Kundalini tradition there is a beautiful mantra practice, the Kal Akal. I am chanting this mantra in the morning 108 times for my dear friend to support her spirit’s transition to the heavenly plane. I chant this loving mantra in memory of my friend.

Mantra: Kal Akal

Kal Akal Siri Kal, Maha Akal, Akal Moorat, Wahe Guru

Translation:

“Kaal” means death. “Akaal” means undying. “Akaal Moorat” is our pattern that exists beyond death. “Wahe Guru” is the mantra of ecstasy.

More Information:

This protective mantra wraps around animosity and seals it closed. It can remove the very shadow of death.

Thank you to Spirit Voyage for this translation.

Thank you for this translation. I have heard the Kal Akaal performed by Kartha Singh & Friends. Even though I did not understand the words, the atmosphere the mantra expresses is very close to it’s meaning. A feeling of good, true and protective company.
