I am meditating in this picture. I am dancing and feeling the most precious parts of who I am. I am happy and joyful and moving my body to a beat that I love. This is meditation. sarahdancing_2

Possibly, you are a person that doesn’t feel dancing is a meditation, if so, rethink your perception of what contemplation and meditation mean to your life. Any practice that stirs a blissful feeling inside of us educates us on what makes us feel best.  It is in that knowledge of happiness that we build on the most beloved parts of who we are, and we learn that this is where our spirit resides, within that joy.

Meditation is an act of going within and feeling something deeper than what you witness on the outside of your life. It is a connection to a part of yourself that you most likely don’t observe in your day to day activities. The action of going within is what it takes to acquire the knowledge you need to be most successful with your endeavors. It will help you focus on the foundational parts of who you are, revealing your strengths and your weaknesses. You will become honest about who you are and take steps to arrive in your life in the most transparent and powerful ways.

Give meditation another chance and for now, don’t overthink it. Spend some time contemplating what it is that makes you connect to the ecstasy that’s ever present within you and build on the feelings that are enlivened when you are there.

My commitment this year is to bring more dancing into my life, I love the experience of happiness and peace, and I know that this is a sure way to develop that connection and get to know the essence of who I am as a spirit inside.
