Ayurveda and the First Chakra | ItThe first Chakra is connected to the Earth element. Our foundation and sense of groundedness is created here. When our first, or root chakra becomes disturbed, we can experience anxiety, fear, worry, and a scattered mind. Gas, bloating, and constipation may also occur when we are not in sync with the steady force of the Root Chakra. Factors that contribute to imbalance are keeping an irregular daily routine, multitasking, partaking in too much TV and computer work, and consuming caffeine and other stimulants. How do we pacify and center our Root Chakra?

Keep a consistent daily routine, eat moist, warm foods, go for a walk in nature, perform grounding yoga poses, and try to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. The herbal supplement, Triphala, supports healthy bowel and bladder elimination, creating space for a clearer mind.
